Recent Win #1:

A waterfront homeowner was sued by his neighbor for a host of claims. The firm assisted the homeowner in defending the case and working toward a reasonable resolution to put the matter to rest.

Recent Win #2:

The firm recently assisted a homeowner who was cheated out of more than $30,000 by her builder. The homeowner made a large deposit with the builder to have work done on her home, but the builder refused to show up and do the work. After attempts to negotiate failed, the homeowner hired the firm and the Firm obtained a judgment of over $100,000 in her favor against the builder’s company, and its owner individually.

Recent Win #3:

The firm assisted a condominium association in collecting overdue fees and assessments from a unit owner, who refused to pay his bills and assessments.

Recent Win #4:

The firm assisted condominium association with updating and amending its master deed. The condominium act allows a Condo Association to amend its condo documents to meet the Association’s changing needs over time, and to respond to new challenges
that arise over time, such as short term rentals.

A homeowner had a dispute with the neighbor, who wanted a drainage easement running through his property better controlled. The firm assisted the homeowner with negotiating a buyout and agreed-upon resolution that was satisfactory to both sides.

Homeowners were bilked by a negligent builder, and they suffered tens of thousands of dollars in losses as a result of a poorly handled building project. The firm assisted them with litigation and collecting all their damages back from the builder and the owner of the company, individually.

 

Small Business Law

 

Recent Win #1:

A construction company worked on a major project with other contractors, which included major construction project to build new government facilities. When the relationship broke down between the companies, the contractor incurred substantial financial losses. Litigation ensued, and the Firm assisted the construction company with getting the claims against it dismissed.

Recent Win #2:

A homebuilder needed assistance with negotiating the terms of a detailed contract with a wealthy homeowner seeking to build a waterfront property. The firm assisted the builder with significant discussions and negotiations toward working out the detailed contract.

Employment Law

 

Recent  Win #1:

An executive was retaliated against by senior management for enforcing work rules against another worker. The executive was terminated, and the firm assisted the executive with litigation and negotiations. The executive ultimately received a very favorable severance and settlement agreement with the employer.

 

Personal Injury & Accident

 

Recent  Win #1:

A young man was injured when another driver struck him, totaling his car and causing foot injuries. The firm negotiated a reasonable settlement, and the young man was very happy with the result.

About the Author

Mr. Zelenock grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and earned a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan. He graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1998, and has practiced law in Traverse City since 1998.
